But, I just could not help thinking about all of the other police officers who have died in the line of duty. Some of them I knew very, very well; worked with them and morn them today.  And also some of my friends who died while not on duty - tragic circumstances. They do not get the recognition they deserve and the job sometimes takes its toll. To Ray and Ian especially.

There were only a handful of people. It was very sad. He was the most amazing, gentle, thoughtful, funny and kind person I ever worked with on the force.

Just thinking about these folks and all my other close friends who are no longer with us ...
