Just dawned on me ... My 10 Client Scrolls

Hmmm ... I am a client now.

Not sure why it just hit me? I have been on the client-side before and been at this gig for a year and a half. I think, perhaps, it is the calls and emails from potential suitors/suppliers that have ramped up suddenly that made me realize my change in status. No longer am I on the, "kill what you eat," program.

One thing I will try to do is treat all the sales-types who are now calling me, as I would have liked to have been treated over the years.

My Ten (Og Mandino-esque) Client Scrolls

1 - Tell 'em the truth. Always!

2 - Quality - Price - Service ... I promise, to pick only two.

3 - I will have a budget and stick with it. (And I will tell them the budget)

4 - I will set realistic, attainable timelines and do not fudge/pad the dates!

5 - Establish my requirements going in - so the supplier can meet them. That is true quality!

6 - There will be no surprises! From either side of the desk.

7 - If I am not interested, I will tell them up front. If I am no more than a suspect I will tell em. If I am a possible prospect I will tell em.

8 - I will happily do lunch. But AFTER the deal, project, or sale has gone through.

9 - If you don't listen, don't expect me to!

10 - I will return calls, emails and I will do, what I say I will do. All the time, every time.

I promise!
